The Pantone Color Matching System developed by this organization is an accepted method for selecting colors around the world. For example, by saying 13-1023 Pantone code, everyone in the world can easily identify the pitch fudge color.
Pantone has been announcing the Color of the Year since 1999. This time of the year is eagerly awaited by workers in various industries that use different colors or color prints including artwork, graphic design, design, craft, and publishing. Pantone’s selected colors sell many products throughout the year in various sectors.
Pantone uses a different numbering system to identify different colors, and each year the company publishes a color guidebook, which is one of their main sources of income. 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of Pantone’s Color of the Year announcement. Pantone’s color of the year in the outgoing year, i.e. 2023, was Viva Magenta. In the previous year, they chose two colors instead of one, breaking the tradition.
Pantone’s expert team selects the Color of the Year based on several factors.
